Global Democracy Champions Summit
In October 2023, Flávia Pellegrino participated in the Global Democracy Champions Summit, hosted by Keseb in partnership with LAUT (Center for the Analysis of Liberty and Authoritarianism), an organization within the Pacto's pela Democracia network. The event was a global conference addressing the worldwide challenges for the 2024 elections in various countries. During her speech, Flávia emphasized the significant lessons learned by civil society during the 2022 electoral period, particularly the recognition that defending democracy in Brazil is an ongoing process and a continuous effort.
Closing Event
In January 2025, Flávia participated in the closing meeting of the first class of the Keseb fellowship in South Africa. Áurea Carolina, from NOSSAS, Tainah Pereira, from Mulheres Negras Decidem, and Gabriel Marmentini, from Politize!, also participated in this fellowship cycle alongside other global leaders. Flávia highlighted the importance of Pacto pela Democracia's participation in this program:
“In this moment of global distrust in democracies, it is essential to create a transnational network of connection, solidarity, learning, and collaboration between organizations from Brazil, the United States, and South Africa. The development of leadership is also the development of the organizations themselves. It was a space where we were able to look at both the people and the organizations, creating a space of trust, collaboration, and joint work.”
